“It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting”
The Alchemist is one of my favourite books.
I read it every couple of years and it gives me perspective on what's important and reminds me what to focus on - "my personal legend." What Paulo Coelho means by this is the unique and fulfilling path or destiny that each of us is meant to pursue - a journey of self-discovery and the realisation of our true purpose.
I was fortunate to discover my personal legend early on - helping others achieve their full potential.
This was the core reason behind my first startup, The Market Mogul - giving people diverse perspectives on what's happening in finance, politics, and global affairs so they could understand all sides of the story and make more informed decisions.
When at Meta, I read The Alchemist, and it helped me realise I was drifting away from my personal legend. I had helped my team grow, evolve and make a real impact, something was missing. That deeper sense of purpose. So I left to join EF and build another startup.
Fast forward a few years…
I read it again a couple weeks ago - and this time it hit differently. I realised that, for the first time in a while, I am firmly pursuing my personal legend -and something feels truly right. It comes through working on Catapult.
